Joe,

I'd like to learn about EGL and see if it has any applications here. I think we have most all our reporting needs satisfied by IBM's DataQuant but there will be a need for some simple Web based applications that can call SQL stored procedures on the i5 or send SQL and return one or more records at a time. Is EGL the best road for such applications or JavaScript/HTML or what?

Thanks,

Dave

I completely agree with Brad on this one.

Now we're in CGIDEV2 and love it...so easy to use and understand...

It's nice to have a toolset that we can utilize where we can use our
existing knowledge of RPG with very little learning curve from html, css
and javascript.

So have you tried EGL, Shane? You can do *all* your business logic in
RPG, and use WYSIWYG tools to create web pages, then write a couple
lines of code in a simple syntax to call your business logic.
