Interesting piece of work concerning "desktop in the browser" type
applications.

VERY slow, or rather VERY CPU intensive. Also I couldn't get it to work
in Opera even though they said that was the preferred browser.

Actually, Safari is the preferred browser.

Indeed interesting, but slow and also dependent on non-Microsoft standards
(SVG, and the latest and greatest JavaScript, neither of which is supported
in IE).

If you're interested in using JavaScript as your GUI base, though, you may
be in luck. Your world may be rocked soon...
