I have installed WAS 6.1 on my iseries using the GUI installer on DVD.

Server info is located in

\qibm\proddata\WebSphere\AppServer\V61\Express.

The features are:

5733W61 V6R1M0 WebSphere Application Server V6.1 for i5/OS

5733W61 V6R1M0 WebSphere Application Server V6.1 Express

I executed IPTEST from the BIN directory and it worked.

When I tried to start the server using \bin\startserver, I got the message
"no default profile exists"

I ran "manageprofiles -create" to create a profile and get the following
message:

INSTCONFFAILED: The profile could not be created. For more
information, consult the
/QIBM/UserData/WebSphere/AppServer/V61/Express/profileRegistry/logs/managepr
ofiles/AppSrv03_create.log file.

I've looked through the XML log file. The first WARNING level states:

<method>messageLogged</method>

<message>wsadmin task failed with return code :103</message>

</record>

The first SEVERE level states:

Im not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions would be great.
