Kent, If you take a broader view of defining what users are authorized to and what your web application will expose to one user vs. another, I think you'll conclude that it would be better handled on the server rather than trying to do that via JavaScript. And the solution you come up with could probably be used across many applications. Nathan M. When the user clicks the detail link, I want to check the flag to see if they are authorized. If they are, show the detail, if not, show a message box.
