No reading involved - the problem arises on output long before anything is read back. Besides CGIDEV2 handles this under the covers.

Hmmm. That raises an interesting point which I'll have to check out. They are not newbies at this so I doubt they'd have forgotten - but I also thought that the program was supposed to be exactly the same except for the change to writing to stream file.
