I am not sure if cgidev2 have a restriction under the "read" of htmlvar,
and i thnik not, i get some value until 32000 char with cgidev2.
the restriction is just in the lenght of each post of the temp table before
data is sent to the stdout.

Subject: [WEB400] Rép. : [SPAM] CGIDEV2 field truncation...

You have a couple of option:
- modify the CGIDEV2 tools (I do not recomend this)
- split your field in 5 1000 caracter subfield. If you only output the
comments, that should cause no problem. If it is for input, then that is
another story.

All:

I have a field in a file that's 5000 characters long...just a general
notes field...

What happens when I attempt to write it to a web page using
updhtmlvar(),
it truncates the field to only write out 1024 characters...hence, we're

losing data...is there something I can do to avoid this?...

P.S. I just put this into production as my first CGI production
app...lots
of people panicking about losing data...about to start pulling my hair

out...
