How do I send i5/OS commands from a .ASP app to the i5? Which better language?

Colleagues,
 
Below is how I've executed a stored procedure on my i5.  How can I
send/invoke i5/OS commands like: STRREXPRC or SBMJOB. 
 
Set AS400Command = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command")
AS400Command.ActiveConnection = objConn
 
AS400Command.CommandText = "DODOM1.SETPIN"
AS400Command.CommandType = adCmdStoredProc
 
 
< Various variables fill out via several lines of code here >
 
 
'Execute the command on the AS/400 
   AS400Command.Execute

Which is the better short-term-development and
long-range-maintenance/development web app language to build apps:
 
WebSphere
X-Web
.NET
.ASP
PERL
?
 
Add in other languages/environments you feel are appropriate and why ..
EXCEPT any that involve RPG, CGI, and other i5-exclusive web development
environments.
