Hi Shane, Below is the code necessary to bring in text or data(you would have to parse the data) into your page. I didn't write this original. I got it from www.dynamicdrive.com <http://mail.nmca.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.dynamicdrive.com> a great site for all kinds of web tools. Have fun! // put before /head and change style to your liking. <style type="text/css"> /*Example CSS for demo ticker*/ #ajaxticker1{ width: 700px; height: 50px; border: 0px ridge black; padding: 5px; background-color: #E5DABA; } #ajaxticker1 div{ /*IE6 bug fix when text is bold and fade effect (alpha filter) is enabled. Style inner DIV with same color as outer DIV*/ background-color: #E5DABA; } .someclass{ //class to apply to your scroller(s) if desired } </style> // get from http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/ajaxticker.htm <http://mail.nmca.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/ajaxticker.htm> , I didn't change a thing. <script src="/cnet/ajaxticker.js" type="text/javascript"> // put in body where u want the ticker to appear <div align="center"> <script type="text/javascript"> var xmlfile="/cnet/tickercontent.txt" //path to ticker txt file on your server. //ajax_ticker(xmlfile, divId, divClass, delay, optionalfadeornot) new ajax_ticker(xmlfile, "ajaxticker1", "someclass", 4000, "fade") </script> </div> ________________________________ From: web400-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Shane_Cessna@xxxxxxx Sent: Thu 9/21/2006 10:39 AM To: Web Enabling the AS400 / iSeries Subject: Re: [WEB400] AJAX Joe, Could you throw up an example of doing that?... Remember that you don't need to use RPG to use AJAX. You can retrieve data straight from your IFS. In my case, it is recurring text to be displayed on a web page ticker. ________________________________ From: web400-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Shane_Cessna@xxxxxxx Sent: Thu 9/21/2006 9:58 AM To: Web Enabling the AS400 / iSeries Subject: Re: [WEB400] AJAX Wow...thanks to all who have given feedback and suggestions on this...I really appreciate it...
