There was an exploit involving the parsing of this information that came out last year or the year before. Everyone except Microsoft fixed their browsers. Microsoft just disabled support for passing the user name and password in the URL when going over HTTP or HTTPS. BTW, the syntax is: http://username:password@hostname. Matt
