Note that IBM doesn't provide commands for managing Validation Lists,
only API's. I wrote a set of commands to do this that are available at
http://www.ignite400.org/html/sample_code.htm.

James,

First you need to setup a validation list

CRTVLDL MYLIB/MYVLDL

In HTTP Admin Console:

Advanced, Internet Users and Groups:
to maintain the validation list entries

Manage, HTTP Servers:

Sample for config

Protect /myproject/* {
   PasswdFile MYLIB/MYVLDL
   ACLOverride Off
   Mask All@(*)
   AuthType Basic
   ServerID MY_PROJECT
   UserID %%SERVER%%

cheers

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to use AuthType Basic with the original http server on
iSeries.
This doesn't use SSL or anything fancy. I don't necessarily need to use

the same usernames and passwords as the normal iSeries equivalents. I
was
thinking of something along the lines of Apache's AuthUserFile. Can
anyone tell me how to get the equivalent on the original http server?

James Rich
