This isn't a CGI app so that technique will not work. The iSeries Toolbox has
classes in it that let you call a traditional program directly.

for testing, you can also just enterring the URL to call your CGI and see
the HTTP coderet (404, 200 ...)

Matt,

Thanks for the suggestion. Now, to show my ignorance in this area, where
might I find the logs? Searching my PC for stdout didn't turn up anything.
I'm using the built in test server in WDSc. If it's in the workspace it's
gone for now. I'm reinstalling due to some other issues. The affect of
which makes the help practically unusable.

Rick,

I'm not at all familiar with the example you're using but I'd start by
looking at the STDOUT logs for your app server. What you describe sounds
like an exception is being thrown somewhere that's causing your program to
not get called.

I'm working on my first web application for the iSeries. It is based on the
Client/Server development lab Joe Pluta presented at DevCon last week.

I am sending an account number to a program on our iSeries via jt400 and
returning a date value. Originally, the iSeries program being called
chained to a file to get the return date value. Thinking it might be a
library list issue, because I haven't yet figured out how the library list
is set, I hard coded the program to return a value of 99999999.

The application is front-ended by a JSP with a servlet making the calls to
the iSeries using jt400 classes. When I press submit on the JSP it blinks
and redisplays with both the input and output fields blank. I have tried to
debug it using the WDSc server on my PC but I haven't figured it out yet.

I hope this is enough information. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what
I have done wrong?

Rick
