Jim, You can port the module to the iSeries. Make sure the module is designed for Apache 2.0. That will save you a lot of conversion issues. You will need to port the source to the iSeries and compile the Apache module as a service program. The module entry point needs to be exported from the service program. You will need to compile the C module with TERASPACE(*YES). In the Apache configuration file you will need a line like the following with your program information.
