To summarize, MS now recommends NOT clicking on links when viewing web pages in IE. But rather, type them manually in the address bar.

When reading something like that, I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

As a follow-up, it appears MS supposedly now *has* a security update for IE. Check out the story at SlashDot, and follow the links to MS.

But read the discussion at SlashDot. One person reports that one problem has *not* been fixed, the problem where the address bar does not show the complete URL if it contains a x'00'.
