HATS is an interesting product. It works quite well and IBM have a demo
site showing you end results where you can sign on

1) HATS requires interactive CPW (webfacing requires 0 CPW = $30-$150K
savings on a new machine)
2) HATS is a screenscraper system that dynamically converts screen objects
to a web browser.
3) The look and feel of HATS can be modified and data can be passed to the
screens in the latest version
4) HATS integrates with Websphere Studio permits screen bunching (cool, but
so does webfacing)
5) HATS is a licensed product ($160 per user approx depending on your
agreement (from IBM site))
6) Works across the p, i, z series machines.

The pros and cons of HATS
Pros
No conversion required - HATS takes care of it dynamically
      Can bunch screens together
      Allows data passing
Cons
Requires interactive CPW and is a significant cost vs. Webfacing
   which is 'free'.
Tied in to a Jacada type model where you always need the green screen
   interactive feature.
There's no code to customize to enterprise specifications as there is
   with Webfacing.

Warning: The HATS people and the Webfacing people are competing with each
other inside IBM. Don't expect them to be kind about each other's products.

Here's the demo - you need to register first.

P.S. Joe Pluta made some good points about his package that competes with
with the webifying tools out there. However I have to disagree that
iSeries developers don't have to learn new tools. Every iSeries developer
should learn WSAD because it is the replacement, not and adjunct, to the
development
tools on the iSeries (IBM statement of direction). It is true though that
it is a bulky behemoth that requires 1 gig ram (512 is a joke) and a super
fast processor (2+ghz is good) and fast bus.

Went to a presentation at our local user group's meeting. The gentleman
spoke on HATS. How great it was, how customizable it was, how much better
it is than webfacing, etc. Almost gave the impression that HATS will be
around for the longer haul.

If you want some fun and have some time to kill, get a HATS guy and a
Webfacing guy to give a joint presentation.

We've had presentations on both, and neither side has much good to say
about the other. So I figure they probably both suck in their own special
ways.
