PHP is a scripting langauge that is imbedded in HTML. The Apache web server (and others I assume) can be setup to recognize the PHP code and pass it to a processor program. The PHP processor returns HTML code, which replaces the PHP script in the file returned to the browser. It is this processor program which must be setup on the iSeries. On other platforms, the PHP processor can be loaded as an Apache "module" which apparently has some advantages not known to me. Conceptually it is very similar to ASP. >>> david@midrange.com 01/27/03 12:20 PM >>> "Wills, Mike N. I don't know what NET.DATA is like. ASP yes, not really JSP (IMHO) ... JSP runs actual programs in a servelet environment ... PHP is just a scripting language. david _______________________________________________ This is the Web Enabling the AS400 / iSeries (WEB400) mailing list To post a message email: WEB400@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo.cgi/web400 or email: WEB400-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/web400.
