Don't expect the sample HTML pages/snippets to be much better... ;-) Almost none of them would pass the validator at http://validator.w3.org , and not because the DTD is missing or one would be far to rigid - they are simply wrong; e.g. <li> list items in an <ol> ordered list should be closed with </li>. Just stepped over that yesterday in a manual. And there are lots of those in pdf's, online as sample, online in production, teached to newbies, and so on.
