I've cross-posted this question on a couple lists. Hopefully a Webfacing
developer or consultant can answer it.

If one were to measure the elapsed CPU time to perform some action such as
pressing the PageUp key 200 times while browsing a list of records in a 5250
subfile, then were to perform an equivalent action using the Web interface,
what would the difference in CPU time be?

I've performed similar tests with Workstation Gateway. And the CPU time
consumed was 8-10 times greater than that of the 5250 interface, alone.

Has anyone performed a similar test with Webfacing? How much extra CPU time
did the Web interface consume?

I suppose one would need to track elapsed CPU time used by the HTTP Server
Job, Websphere Application Server Job, the Webfacing Server Job, plus the
original program.

It would be helpful to at least have some estimate of the extra workload
resulting from the Web interface.

Thank you,

Nathan M. Andelin
