Rob, I think you will come to appreciate Java over CGI as you see its capabilities. Tomcat and Websphere are both servlet engines that support JSP pages. JSP pages are just generated servlets. You say "whip up post haste" and your developer has some stuff ready. Sounds like Tomcat to me. Here are some articles to get you started: http://www.midrangeserver.com/mpo/mpo021402-story02.html http://www.midrangeserver.com/mpo/mpo021402-story05.html If you are current on PTFs and already have the 1.3 JDK installed, you should be able to get it up and running in an hour or so. Since the 1.3 JDK comes with 5.1, that won't slow you up much if you don't have it installed, but be sure to order and apply the latest java group. Tomcat should not even be noticeable in your environment and should not necessitate an upgrade. Java does like memory though but at your low utilization, I don't imagine you will need more. Now I need to know which implementation of servers on the 400 support Java. Which of the following, if any, does NOT support Java? http - original http - pbApache Tomcat Websphere Not looking at high volume. Which of the above should I be using? And what is a good link for setting it up? I've set up a few originals. Our intranet may be running on our 840-12 way: % CPU used : 10.4 Testing and development will be running on our 820: % CPU used : 21.2 Extra/inter net will be on our 270: % CPU used : 1.3 Knowing my boss, throwing some money to upgrade the machines, if necessary, would be no problem. Everything is V5R1 and will be V5R2 shortly after it is available. Currently our internet site is 100% Domino. Our current intranet site is static and is a very simple Domino database. We have a developer who just about has some java screens ready for testing and I need to whip up the server post haste. Rob Berendt
