List box w/ checks using HTML?

Folks:

Anyone know how to simulate a list box with check boxes using HTML?

What I want is to present the user with a scrollable window that contains a
table with check boxes on each line, so they can select the items they want
from the list.... but I want static information on the page also.

Does this make any sense?
