Yes we had this exact same problem after upgrading to V5R1! And we loaded
every new PTF, and CUM available (or so we thought:-). Here is what our
AS400 admin told me to tell you:

Tell them to order SF99510, SF99097, SF99156, SF99069, and SF99501
They are: The latest CUMe, HIPERs, HTTP, Java, and DB group PTFs. If they
are using WebSphere, they should also order SF99146, which includes some of
the above groups, but they can figure out which ones are included in that by
reading the APARs at
http://www-912.ibm.com/supporthome.nsf/document/10000031

After apply these we haven't had a problem since!

Hope that helps,
Aaron Bartell

Subject: [WEB400] classic http server on V5R1 dieing

Has anyone else had the classic web server; I do not even have time to look
over apache;
since going to V5R1 just suddenly ending on them.

This has been happening about 2-3 times per week to me;
We have an 820, plenty of dasd and memory, the times
it dies are random, I see nothing in any logs (history or
the history files for the server that I log (access, agent and references)

I am up to date on PTF's; and it has only done this to me since we went
from V4R5 to V5R1.

Any ideas where to look - or do I have to bite the bullet and find
time to look over the other "servers" to serve the cgi programs?

TIA
