Hostname match? -- WEB400

Ok, quick question about host name ...

If I put an entry in my http configuration as:
HostName il400sv1.mks.com

But try to browse to it using:

http://il400sv1/cgi-bin/someprogram?someparameter

Will it execute the request properly or does it try and match the hostname
specified in the configuration?

Apache has name based virtual hosts, where the site name maters... but I'm
unsure if it maters with the standard web server.
