Rusty, 1. Cache your graphics 2. 'Persistant CGI' will enable to you to reuse resident activation groups, ODP's etc..... Andrew "Rusty Luse" <rluse@cronus.c To: <WEB400@midrange.com> c> cc: Sent by: Subject: Web Development Question owner-web400@mi drange.com 06/13/2001 01:55 PM Please respond to WEB400 All, I have developed a couple of RPG CGI applications that enable salesmen to enter quotes and orders over the internet. The salesmen love the ability to use the internet but the response time is very slow even for those using high speed connections. The application is running off a 9401-150 machine with no other applications. The operating system is V4R5. Does anyone know of any changes to the system and/or HTTP server I could make that might help the speed? Or, is this just a situation where the 150 machine just doesn't have the processing speed to effectively run web applications? IBM has told me that I need to upgrade to one of their iSeries machines. Surprise. Surprise. I would also like to get some feedback on what techniques, software, etc. others are using to develop dynamic web applications for the AS400.
