I check the RDi Fix List https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/fix-list-rational-developer-i and RPG Cafe https://ibm.biz/rpg_cafe. *STATUS was added to RPG in Spring 2024 and support for that was added in RDi in 9.8.0.2.

In any case, it would be best to update to 9.8.0.4.

IIRC - SND-MSG only had options *INFO and *ESCAPE until one of the latest TRs - also RDi only knew those options.

I think it was RDi version 9.8.0.3 that introduced the new options like *STATUS to RDi.

Have you tried updating RDi to the latest Fixpack (9.8.0.4), Greg?

Just tried your line of code and it seems OK - no syntax errors..

Brian.

I was trying to use the SND-MSG opcode as follows
snd-msg *status myMessage %target(*ext);

However, the syntax checker does not like *STATUS. Error: RNF0604 (20)The token is not valid; token is ignored.
In fact, it doesn't like most of the valid values.

The program compiles and functions as expected.

Is there an easy way to update this?

TIA,
Greg
