I would expect that if it's a work computer that will be re-issued, then it
would be wiped and re-loaded by your company's IT department.

I've never bothered to uninstall anything on my old laptops.

Daniel is correct. I asked this question years ago to IBM and was told,
install as many times as you like (for just yourself) but sign on only one
at a time and you do not violate the license. It is a single use license,
not a single install license. I shall assume it is still the same these
days.

This definitely sounds like you are using an activation kit - so can
technically simply install on the new machine.

AFAIK you are not allowed to run both installations at the same time.

It probably depends on the type of license - if it's an authorized user

license, you only need to connect using it on just one laptop at a time.

The license is, seems to me, on the server, not the PC.

I don't know how the floating licenses work, that might be different.
