Hi Kay,
Both of your issues may be related to the default 'Automatic syntax checking' settings. You likely had it turned off in 96013. The default setting is on.
Go into Preferences -> type COBOL, then select IBM i Parsers COBOL and turn off the Automatic syntax checking and the Automatic syntax checking of SQL Statements (performed on the server).
If that doesn't help, please contact IBM Support so we can delve into the issue.

Hi there,
I have two problems with RDI 9.8.0.2.
1. When editing or viewing a specific Cobol member, the application freezes. Other Cobol members from the same library can be edited or viewed without any problems. If I cancel RDI, the following error message appears: "IBM Sumeru Runtime binary not responding". Unfortunately, I can't find anything in the logs. The same behavior also occurs with a new workspace. I can see that the member was completely downloaded to "RemoteSystemsTempFiles..." A new installation of 9.8 followed by an update to 9.8.0.2 was also unsuccessful. The problem does not occur under RDI 9.6.0.13 and under 9.8.0.0. I have not tested with RDI 9.8.0.1 because I work with iASP. What can I do?
2. I also noticed that the outline view sometimes does not work properly for individual Cobol members. (CBLLE)
