Agreed Jim. And I didn't even mention the fact that yesterday when we tried to point a client to the page where they could purchase the product ... Well we found that the information given on the RDi home page points to a button that no longer exists and that when you do find the equivalent (a "Pricing" pull down) and select the option you want you get the correct price but the product description is wrong and you can't tell whether you have the right item in the cart or not until you've gone the whole way through the process! Sometimes it amazes me how IBM manage to stay in business.

IBM makes some of the best items in the industry, but they can’t seem to make websites work to save anyone’s soul. The marketing stuff, yea that works, the technical sites are kinda also ran management. Been that way for some time. Until whoever is responsible for the web sites is fired and someone competent and demanding takes that position, nothing will change. This is a sad record we’ve been playing for years.

For the benefit of anyone coming upon this thread somewhere down the road ...

The problem I had with Installation Manager was due to IBM's idiot habit of selecting the wrong version of IM for download. The version that Fix Central erroneously selects is not only out of date but won't even install on current Macs!

When you do to the page to select the download look for a small selector arrow alongside the version number box. Click that and you will be offered later (and earlier) versions than the one selected. The one I needed (as identified by Jack) was 1.9.2.2. Once that was identified and downloaded all went smoothly and I have a working RDi on Monterey.

Thanks to Jack and all the others who contributed.

And IBM - please fix your bleeping web site to offer the correct version!

Already at 1.9.1.5 Mike - that was the only way I could get a clean
install. I did a complete scratch install using the latest IM about 2
months ago after finally giving up on trying to patch what I had. As noted
it was working (and still works) after the Monterey update - it is just IM
that is the problem.
