Re: Rational Developer for i 9.6.0.12 fixpack is now available!

Just tried to update.
IBM installation manager on Linux (PopOS, Ubuntu-like) crashes with error
code 160.
It used to work. That's how RDi got installed.
Every step of the path with RDi gives the user the impression that we're in
a cul-de-sac.

occasional flakiness it has exhibited on Mac for a while).

Today I tried to update and discovered a major problem. IM just comes up
with a blank screen. It won't do a dang thing. If I ask it to show updates
(from the menu bar) it tries to build the GUI but doesn't go anywhere. No
meaningful error message just a java null pointer exception.

Anyone else experienced anything like this.

It would appear that the repository is back online if you are waiting to

update to 9.6.0.12 that way!

Manager accesses the IBM update repository which is currently unavailable.

to see when this is resolved. You can register for notifications.

Either wait for the IBM update repository to be available or download

the fixpack zip file from Fix Central, unzip the zip to a folder, and then
register the folder as a repository in Installation Manager (
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSAE4W_9.6.0/com.ibm.etools.iseries.install.doc/topics/t_specifying_repository_locations.html).
Once it is registered, you can click 'Update' and the fixpack will be
applied. After it is applied, remember to deregister the fixpack folder
repository.
