Close the extra views before you attempt to swap the modes.

Changing the mode from Edit to Browse is a new feature and it doesn't play nice with the additional open views within the lpex editor.

When the Lpex editor opens the view it creates a sub array Lpex editors. The "Edit to Browse" feature appears to only be run on the Lpex editor instance you are inside.
It does not take the time to see if it has a Parent Lpex Editor group.

It's almost like IBM forgot the open new view feature even exists for the Lpex editor.
