We connect using a VPN (Pulse) and the settings I can see don't include any timeouts.

I've suggested to my boss that we start with a 25 minutes keep-alive, see if I still have to take a bunch of disconnects and reconnects and a few saves to members that are locked, so have to kill that job, then a couple dialogs to respond to.

I'm not kidding!

Cheers
Vern

A VPN can have a separate time-out and port restrictions but you would need

I have to ask - is there not some way to handle this from the RDi side?
I was looking at ACS, and all I see is the auto-reconnect, which tries
to connect after recovery from failure, so that doesn't seem quite the
same.
FWIW: I was having a major problem with RDi hanging up on my Ubuntu
workstation.

I work remotely and connect through an OpenVPN server.

For other reasons, I started tunneling my connection through a linux
machine that's local to the IBM i I'm working on.

Since I started doing that, I haven't had any serious connection problems.
