Hi Rob,

That is what I had in mind, but one level up. I do have a whole bunch of connections and I am lazy, as almost every developer. So I had the idea of a property in the RDi preferences (Window -> Preferences).

Thomas.

Is this what you're looking for?

Right click a Connection->Properties->Host and set the Default User id

Hi,

Is there an option (well hidden in the RDi preferences) to specify a
default user name for IBM i connections?

RDi defaults to my Windows user name, which is annoying, because I have a
whole bunch of connections (different library lists) and I have a different
user name on the IBM i.

I had to create a new workspace and now I have to change the user name for
all connections when connecting to the IBM i for the first time.

BTW, why does RDi not identify stored credentials by host name? A whole
bunch of my connections share the same host name, but I have to re-enter my
user and password for each of them.

Regards,

Thomas.
