Thanks David - I did finally manage to work it out and was going to post here as soon as I finished with my current crisis!

Sadly the -clean did nothing for me.

Open a command line window
Navigate to where RDi is installed
Type 'Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/eclipse -clean'.

RDi should launch and clean up the environment.

/Applications/IBM/SoftwareDeliveryPlatform96/Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/eclipse -clean
