I had responded to a thread about a month ago on this subject (I also
added this to the ticket thread):
I was getting that same error unless I ran RDi as root. I'm on a Mac and
I
would have to run it from the shell ("sudo ./ExecuteScript" in the
application area)
I finally fixed it by updating the authorities in the
/Applications/IBM/SoftwareDeliveryPlatform path. (sudo chmod -R 775 *)
Now I have no problems installing the updates.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] iSphere does not install on Mac - Who can help?
Sent by: "WDSCI-L" <wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Hello Mac users,
Please have a look at iSphere ticket #91 and share your ideas with me.
https://sourceforge.net/p/isphere/tickets/91/
Wayne cannot install iSphere on his Mac because some items of iSphere
cannot be found. I cannot believe that and I hope that you can help me and
Wayne to find the answer.
I do not have a Mac and hence cannot test anything when it comes to Mac
computers.
Thank you for your hands.
Regards,
Thomas.
