I've been using the Linux version of RDi for quite a while now in a more complicated environment (FreeIPA/LDAP, home dirs on NFSv4 + Kerberos), and it works fine.

There's a few things to know though:

1. If you do home directories over NFS, make sure you always close RDi before opening it up on another machine (e.g. don't open two instances sharing the same workspace/config directories).
2. DPI scaling is problematic and HiDPI screens (e.g. 4K displays in a scaled mode) results in UX elements that are poorly accessible.

TL;DR: if you run a 'standard' environment it works absolutely fine, and I personally do not notice a performance difference with Windows.

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] RDI for Linux

I have been running the Linux version for over a year. The only difference I notice is when I do a refresh of a member list, it takes much longer than on the windows version.

Hi, currently we develope locally using RDI on Windows Pc's but in the
next future we will move our servers in a remote location. There we
can use both Windows or Linux (via Rdp) and I'd like to use Linux. My
question is: are there any diffrence using RDI on Linux Vs Windows?

TIA
