Side note, we are fairly current on IBM I 7.3, with recent TR, I am pretty sure….

Is there a simple way to check our Technology refresh level? Oh yeah, I am using RDI 9.6.0.6, the latest greatest. But, I assume this is really a compiler issue, not completely sure.

Just need to get my work done. Might as well stick to IBM’s beloved punch-card limitation of maximum of 80-columns. My fault for going past punch-card-column 80. My bad.

PS. I am just really trying to met deadlines. Sorry, for coming across so negative. My bad.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDI still stuck in 80 column punch-card mode with SQL. Maybe compiler limitation?

Hi,

My SQLRPGLE code failed on SQL Statement going past punch-card column 80. Which I guess/Assume is a problem with the compiler. But, RDI 9.6.0.6 does not tell me that. Neither does the compiler.

Put back in the 80-columns like the 1960's punch card machine, and then it works...

So much for **free being "Truly" Free.

No wonder our box is called the Univac-Punch-Card-400. perception is reality... <sad face>
