Can you use the Git blame feature or the eGit 'Show Revision Information' as a substitute for preserving date fields?
These features show line by line history in a file. That is, you don't need to trace back through a series a commits to figure out the history for a particular line.

Another approach is to retain date/sequence info but do member compares in RDi (as opposed to text compares). RDi member compares ignore date/sequence info.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Removing sequence numbers only in download

Hi,

In RDi, we have preference to remove dates and sequence number fields upon download. Is there anyway we can remove the sequence upon download w/o removing the dates? This is for clearer compares and diff generation in SVN or Bitbucket.

Suffice to say, removal of dates is non-negotiable so we can only work on removing sequence. I can set the source sequence to zero prior to PR but I would want to do away with it.

Will this be a useful RFE to everyone?
