Hi Ken, I tried -clean with admin authority hoping that would fix things.  It did not.  Steve suggested I look in the .log file and although I didn't understand much of what was in the log I did see enough errors that I though a fresh install was in order.  After the install I checked the log and there were no errors.  After confirming that the context menu was correct I installed iSphere. I checked again and everything was working normally.

Thanks,

Rob

Good! It is not just me. I have crazy things like that happen to me on RDi. And a re-install is simpler!

Oh well, at least you got it to work!

But, I have learned that clearing cache and restarting with the “-clean” option does work! Although it typically takes me about 10-15 minutes or longer. Oh well, out of my control...

Does not happen often. But drives me nuts!

Just wish I could track down what causes RDi to go funky once in a while. Who knows? Could be a Windows thing.

Reboots also seem to work. But that is a very short term fix. I try to key my browser closed. Don’t know why, but that seems to suck up resources. Windows is just not stable...

Ps. You are not the only one! Restarting RDi seems to work too. Not always, but over half the time. On my pc it is about 30 seconds to restart RDi. :)

Steve, yes I did do the install with admin authority.

Today (Saturday) I uninstalled (with IM) the version I installed on Thursday night. I then did a fresh install (with admin authority), created a connection and opened a member to confirm that the context menu had been fully populated. It was fully populated so I then installed the iSphere plug in and again checked the context menu which was still correct.

So an uninstall and a fresh install resolved the problem.

Hi Rob,

Do you recall if you installed as user or admin? Generally I install as admin and run as user. I don't run iSphere so I'm not sure what their newest version is. I've not heard of anyone running into these issues.

Can you look in the .meta data log? It may help determine the error. It's located under Help > About > Then select Installation details at the bottom and select the Configuration Tab, then select the View Log button.

Look for a MUCH easier way in the future, those instructions are way to long!

I just tried restarting with -clean and running as administrator hoping that may help but the options are still missing.

I used to notice this on earlier versions and just doing the right click again made them appear, sometimes.

Hi All,

First off, I'm using RDi 9.6.0.4 and iSphere 3.5.0. I've had a few issues
over time and finally last night I decided to load a completely new
version of RDi (9.6.0.4) on my Window 7 desktop. iSphere is the only plug
in currently installed.

My issue is that when I'm editting source (both RPGLE and SQLRPGLE, Free
and fully free) there are multiple options missing from the right click
context menu.

In my brand spankin' new version I only see options for New, Prompt,
Syntax Check Line, Save (greyed out), STRPREPRC (iSphere), \ (Block End),
Increase indent, Decrease indent and Refactor.

I'm missing Cut, Copy, Paste, Select, Selected, Deslect, Filter view, Show
all, Source, View.

In the 9.6.0.4 Fixpack list of fixes it mentions

+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| SE69378 | RDI 9.6 CONTEXT MENUS ARE NOT POPULATED CORRECTLY IF A 3RD |
| | PARTY PLUGIN BEHAVES POORLY |
+--------------------------------------------------------------------
----+

I would be very suprised that iSphere is causing this issue as not only
did I use it on my previous install (up until last night without seeing
this issue) but I'm sure many other people would be complaining.

iSphere is a very popular plug in.

Are there any suggestions on how to correct this issue?

Thanks,

Rob
