Thanks Mike,

I agree that SE69496 does sound like it addresses the problem I described.

To answer your question - I'm too busy at the moment to risk installing
anything that might impede my current development.

I've seen a few posts pass by about 9.6.0.4 including one with the subject
"How to remove Fixpack 9.6.0.4" but I haven't had a chance to assess them
yet to make a determination whether I think it is stable enough for me to
install.

9.6.0.3 is working well for me, I didn't think it was particularly ancient.

regards,
Craig

Why are you still running 9.6.0.3?

Looking at the fix list SE69496 seems to be a match...

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Outline View bug
Sent by: "WDSCI-L" <wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi all,

I'm running version 9.6.03 of RDi.

I notice that for my service program subprocedures which return a variable
which is defined with a LIKEDS - *the name of the subprocedure is not shown
in the outline view*, it just shows the name as *N

Eg the prototype copy member member looks like this:

Dcl-Pr EM204S_LoadSubfilePage_EmailFileDetail LikeDS( EmailFlDt ) Dim( 99 )
ExtProc( *DclCase );

and the return variable is based on:

Dcl-DS EmailFlDt Qualified Template;
DB2File Char( 10 );
IfsName Char( 50 );
BuildPgm Char( 10 );
ColHeading Char( 8 );
UniqueID Int( 10 );
End-Ds;

The outline view would look something like this:

Subprocedures
*N: DIM(99) LIKEDS(EmailFlDt) EXPORT
*N: DIM(99) LIKEDS(RcpTypeDS) EXPORT
EM204S_Cleanup: EXPORT
EM204S_ValidSubfileControl_EmailFileDetail: EXPORT

etc...

Where the first listed Subprocedure with a name of *N is actually the link
to EM204S_LoadSubfilePage_EmailFileDetail.

Is this a known bug?
Can anyone else confirm ( or deny ) this behaviour?

thanks and regards,
Craig
