Dean,

There are many little updates you have to do for nice "Dark-Theme". Rather than staring into a brightly light bulb...

For a start only, Here is how you get the LPEX edit to be DARK:

1.) >Window>Preferences>LPEX Editor>Appearance
* Choose Palette "Black"
* change the background color to black for each one.
Except for the cursor! <Hint Hint>

Sadly, RDI does not have a THEME for LPEX like other IDE. I think there is already a low priority RFE to have toggle for different theme for LPEX...

I also had to manually update my color preference for "Parser Styles" for my Black/LPEX theme.
window>preferences>LPEX Editor>Parsers>Parser Styles

I had to do some other changes too...

I had to change General Appearance & annotations & some other colors.

I wish I could export & share. It is not perfect, I am still adjusting...

That is the great thing about RDI/Eclipse, you can customize for your own preferences. It is a little bit of work...

PS. When I have to work late, or woke in the middle of the night for production issue, it is great NOT to glaze into a brightly light Bulb screen. <LOL>

Ken,

Thanks for the suggestion. Can you tell me the name of the view that should contain the editor? I think the view that is supposed to contain the editor is missing and I can't figure outhow to get it back. I looked over the list of views, but I couldn't figure out which one it is.

Dean,

You can drag & drop your views on different locations.

Have you have dock your views how you like them for your preferences. Please do a >Window>perspective>Save Perspective As... and confirm you want to "overwrite"

Then it will retain where you have drag & dropped your view. Very flexible. Just always re-save your perspective to keep it how you like it...

NOTE: If you want to move a Toolbar, hover on the edge to get the
4-way direction arrow to drag and drop where you like it. Do not
FORGET to re-save your perspective. <Hint Hint>

That is all part of eclipse, which I use for Java/C/C+ too!

This *might* help:

oc.user%2Ftasks%2Ftasks-3e.htm

PS. Rdi 9.5 uses the Older Eclipse Luna, but still has worked the same way for many release of eclipse.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RSE perspective won't reset

I'm using version 9.5 of RDi. I installed another plugin for out change management product and now when I try to open a source code member it opens in a tab in the bottom section where the Tasks, Object Table, Commands Log tabs are located rather than in the top middle like it is supposed to. I tried resetting the perspective and that didn't fix it. Then, I uninstalled the new plug-in and did a -clean start. Still not fixed. I tried a reset on the perspective again and it still opens the source member in a tab across the bottom.

I know I can grab the tab and move it to the top middle, but the next member I open ends up in a tab on the bottom again. Any ideas how to fix this?
