Seems kind of silly that anything is tied to the actual address of a
system rather than to the object containing the address. I'm glad I never
had to change my connection! At least I am forewarned.

How?
I exported, made the properties changes on the existing connection, then
imported. Everything is back as it was as if I had done nothing. Right
where I started.
