RDi Lite attracts many newcomers to the fold, those otherwise denied

It used to be 'You already paid for in, just install it!'
The response was not overwhelming.

and tot up the various reasons for non-adoption, what has changed to
alter the situation?

I have to agree with Buck. I think a limited lite version (free) could
have some benefit, but the feature set would have to be very limited.
Otherwise, it just erodes the money to improve and enhance the main
product which I find indispensable. If you want the full feature set, get
the full version. After all, RDi pricing is nothing compared to the
mainframe version(s).
