Matt and Arco,

Thank you for your feedback. Is there an entry in the Eclipse error log view with a stack trace that could help me to fix the problem regarding the Journal Explorer?

It may also help to know how you launched the Journal Explorer, since I cannot yet reproduce the problem.

Thomas.

Thomas,

(sorry I did intend for this to go out on Monday but did not).

I report back that the beta seems to be working fine except for the Journal Explorer (which I never used before). I use the heck out of the source search accessed via the main menu, thanks for adding that one.

Every time I the Journal Explorer I get back java.lang.NullPointerException (regardless if I am connected typically or via Kerberos). It could be I just don’t know how to use it yet.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] iSphere 3.2.0.b004 available

Hi,

I uploaded iSphere 3.2.0.b004, which adds the following features:

• Added JDBC connection manager for supporting Kerberos JDBC connections.

• Added menu option for displaying journal entries of selected file or member (context menu of files and members).

• Added preferences value to limit the number of journal entries downloaded to a client PC. The default value is 1000.

• Added preferences value to define the buffer size for retrieving journal entries.

• Fixed problem, that the iSphere spooled file filter sometimes shows "%1" without any meaningful message. (Problem with Kerberos authentication.)

• Changed the iSphere error logger to open the Eclipse error log when it is asked to log an error.

• Added preferences switch "Appearance - Open Eclipse error log on error".

• Added appearance option "Format resource date and time", which controls, whether date and time values of spooled files or messages are formatted and displayed as strings. That can be useful in certain cases, but does not allow sorting by dates in tables.

• Added menu option to start source compare from the context menu of the Lpex editor (Source -> Compare...).

• Changed compare editor to honor the state of the view/edit button of the "iSphere Source File Search" view.

Please be aware of that this version is truly a beta version, since lots of iSphere functions uses JDBC connections. There is a checkbox on the iSphere "Library" preference page to disable the iSphere JDBC connection manager. I tested:

* Spooled file subsystem
* Source file search
* Message file search
* Binding directory editor
* Journal Explorer

But how knows Murphy's next joke.

There is no need for updating the library.

Regards,

Thomas.
