I have seen the right-hand blue boxes - I have a case where there appear to be 2 of them next to each other - but there are a dozen variables not used.

Better for me are the "i" information indicators on the left.

But my use case comes into play when I want to clean up a source member, and especially if it is relatively large and unused items are dispersed sparsely. Then I'd like to have a way to see only those variables. I understand that I still need to verify that I do, indeed, want them removed. Sometimes variables are there to help document things.

Now I do see an odd behavior - I am using *date as the parameter for the %date BIF, as here:

jobdate = %date(*date);

and there is an indication that "The value of the field *DATE is not used" - that just seems counter-intuitive, since it IS in use directly on that very line.

BTW, I just saw that I can copy that message out of the little box - very nice!

BTW Vern, I just wanted to let you know that you can look at the right hand
side of the editor and you will see all of the annotations for the whole
file. They are little colored squares and they are positioned on the
visible border of the editor at their relative position within the wholfe
file. Hovering over themwill show what they are and clicking will take you
there.
For this reason, I don't see the RFE as urgent.

While I think that would be useful... I can no longer find the RFE's in

the IBM website abyss... in fact, I so despise IBM's web presence that I
