Ken - thanks... I'll try the ctrl+shift+V...

The program compiles perfectly... however, the errors remain visible in the editor.

I don't need to restart RDI - simply save the source and re-open the same source member.

The colored annotations/tags are in the right margin. But I like those... I'd rather deal with this now and again, than to turn that off.

Greg,

Just some suggestions:

1.) Try verification, ctrl+shift+V
2.) Try compiling, to see what errors you get
The compiler and the code verifier are not 100% in synch.
3.) Try restarting RDI

PS. I got crazy things, and it was suggest that I turned this off:

window>preferences>Remote Systems>Remote System LPEX>IBM i Parsers
Uncheck "Display syntax check messages as annotations". (Yup, that is an option in RDi 9.5!)

Of course, you might already have that option off anyway...

Been there done that... :(

Check for the color tags on the right hand margin. Presuming you have not done that already.

Anyone know what causes the in-line syntax checker to go nuts?

I was editing a source member today when I observed two separate issues:

1. The source was marked as if an "endif" was missing - hovering over the ! character, the message indicated "endif inserted to complete scope"

2. I inserted 3 new lines in the "calc" area... hovering over the variables actually displayed the properties for a variable 4-5 lines down.

The code compiles and the error still displays... the only way to clear it is to close the source member and reopen in the editor.

The code is completely free format.
I'm running version 9.5.1.0
