Ken,

I am happy you see that message, too, because I thought I was the only one faced with that problem.

Here is what I did to solve it:

a) Found the following web page that describe the problem:

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SS8JFY_7.5.0/com.ibm.lmt75.doc/com.ibm.license.mgmt.security.doc/lmt_scr_downloading_installing_jce_policyfiles.html

b) Downloaded the Unrestricted Policy File from here (first entry for Java 5 SR16 to Java 8):

https://www-01.ibm.com/marketing/iwm/iwm/web/preLogin.do?source=jcesdk

c) Copied the RDi "jdk" folder to another location to keep the original configuration:

Copied "c:\Program Files\IBM\SDP_095\jdk\" to "c:\workspaces\jdk_95\"

d) Replaced the following files:

local_policy.jar
US_export_policy.jar

e) Create a Windows shortcut (.lnk) file with the following start command and -vm parameter:

"C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP_095\eclipse.exe" -showlocation -data workspace -nl en -vm c:\workspaces\jdk_95\jre\bin\javaw.exe

I do not know why things have to be that complicated. I thought that only people outside the US are affected by that problem. But know it seems that also people inside the US are affected, too.

From my point of view that is a no-go.

Regards,

Thomas.

Betreff: [WDSCI-L] RDi 9.6 & iSphere 3.1.2.r --> won't update IBM i library

Hi,

Finally able to download RDI 9.6 today! <WooHoo!!!>

Just having problems updating iSphere. Installing the plug-in (3.1.2.r) , was no problem!
http://isphere.sourceforge.net/eclipse/rdi8.0/

But, I seem to be having problems updating the iSphere library on the IBM I by doing this:
windows>preferences>iSphere>Updates

Then I click on the "Search for updates" for iSPhere. This is where I get "Failed to connect to iSphere update server."
