This sounds like it works great for you, but might be awkward to share.

An alternative is to use a precompiler like Alan Campin's.

I've not tried this, but I imagine it's a nice solution.

Another alternative is to put a comment at the top of the RPG program,
and then when you see it 5 years hence you can go to the Commands view
and do an ADDLIBLE myspeciallib.

It's the ultimate in low-tech, but it's highly portable, and visible
to anyone at all who looks at the source. I think comments are
underrated.
