The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

This is correct - it uses FNDSTRPDM on each member it identifies out of
the filter or just library or source file.
As for iSphere - I find the search there is orders of magnitude faster
than RDI' s that uses FNDSTRPDM I have a filter over library that have
source - and we have a lot - 15-20 at least. It takes most of the time
to build the list of members, then it is always less than a minute to do
the search - and I'd say the whole thing can be under a minute, never
more than 2.
The RDi search could take 10 minutes or more on the same search.
Also, the iSearch flags and settings give you so much more flexibilit -
regular expressions, multiple search criteria, it's fantastic!

AFAIK, RDi uses FNDSTRPDM under the covers.
