Maha,

Thank you, turns out he was on an older version, I have taken steps to get him current.

Regards,
Danny

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] OUTLINE type filter text

This feature was added in RDi 9.1 (RFE10188: Search within ILE RPG Outline
VIEW:
https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=10188
).
It seems like the version might be wrong? Can you please check "Help-> About Rational Developer for i" to make sure?
There is a preference that would remove this if not using the new live outline view, but since he is seeing the triangle I don't think that is the case, but you could check: "Window -> Preferences", "Remote Systems -> Remote Systems LPEX Editor -> IBM i Parsers -> ILE RPG" and make sure that "Update the Outline view when text is changed in the editor" is checked.

Thanks,

My RDi 9.5.1.1 Outline 'box' has a dialog input field at the top of the Outline 'Box'.

If I left click in the small triangle at the top I get a small popup that offers Show Text Filter and Preferences.

A co-worker here does not see the type filter text field, and when he left clicks on the triangle he only sees Preferences.

I am sure there is a setting buried in the preferences somewhere, but I really do not have time to dig into that maze and find the right one to make this show up.

I know someone here knows this because they just had the same problem and had the time to find it. I will be very grateful if that someone shares their hard won knowledge.

Thanks & Regards,
Danny Hayes
