After seeing that 9.1 was having the same issue, I started thinking about what common element the two share. I did put on the new Kerberos debugging PTF for 9.5, but I wasn't too sure whether that would also affect 9.1. Then I remembered that a saw a Java icon in my systray when I logged on. Checked my Java and saw that it had applied an update over the long weekend. Windows + update == better reboot. After the reboot everything was back to normal.
