Hmm... I always use the cursor to select code. When I want to move around whole lines, I use the SEU style line commands. Click, cc, Click cc, Click a, Enter. It is more natural for me. The Alt-l is the one that I never use. So I frequently see the last line highlighted in dark blue in pasted code.

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] Copying code into an email / word doc - without the current line highlighted?

I rarely use the cursor to select code, because 99.66% of the time I
want whole lines, and Alt-l works so much better to highlight/select the
code. So...

move to first line to copy
Alt-l
move to last line to copy
Alt-l
arrow down once from the now highlighted text
Ctrl-c

(And while it has nothing to do with the original question, note the
after highlighting code with Alt-l you can use Alt-c to copy it to the
cursor and Alt-m to move it to the cursor.)

Basically, scroll through, find the code I want...ect.

Using the keyboard would probably be easier than making sure I get the
mouse back to the first pos of the next line.
