Have you compared PyDev to PyCharm? Right now I use 3 different IDE's.
PyCharm for python, RDI for IBM i stuff, and Netbeans for
PHP/HTML/CSS/Java/Javascript. It would be nice to get everything in one
IDE, but Netbeans and PyCharm are so good at what they do that I haven't
been willing to fight the learning curve yet to try the eclipse plugins
for everything else.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Python in RDi

Python is a powerful one-stop shop. And you might be able to use it

that.
There is an Eclipse plug-in called PyDev. The update site is
http://pydev.org/updates John, you can use this with vanilla Eclipse;
no need for RDi in particular :-)
I wrote a 'Hello, World' Python module and did a Run As Python from
within RDi and it ran fine, opening a console and displaying my
unoriginal verbiage in all it's boring glory..
